Kortright Centre for Conservation Venue Overview
Located in Woodbridge, Ontario, Kortright Centre is a place where sustainable technology is field tested since 1982. This unique location demonstrates an awareness for renewable energy and hopes to merge the gap between nature and technology. With many different sites testing solar, wind, sustainable housing energy etc. you will find the visitor center where wedding events are hosted.
Kortright Centre for Conservation has a beautiful property with plenty of wooded areas and open fields. Around the visitor centre, there is a location in the forest for an outdoor ceremony and a glass encased pavilion for the reception. You are always a walk away from an open field or a forest and guests can enjoy explore and enjoy the property.
The outdoor ceremony location typically holds about 100 people, however Kortright states they are able to host events up to 200 people. This ceremony space is just a minute walk away from the main visitor building and has a wooded backdrop. There is also a trail right beside the ceremony area to explore and plenty of space for family photos. The pavilion is constructed from wooden beams and glass which creates a natural and cozy ambiance. The glass roof will protect you from the rain or wind, the the sliding side glass doors can be adjusted for the elements.
Kortright partnered with Peter & Pauls Hospitality Group for food, drink and entertainment and claim to have over 100 unique catering options. The event coordinators are able to provide full service from concept to completion which is useful for couples who like to just enjoy the wedding day.
This venue offers a semi-complete onsite wedding solution with ceremony and reception spaces while having limited preparation rooms. You will need to consider outside preparation or overnight stays as Kortright doesn't seem to offer this.
Kortright Centre for Conservation is a great wedding venue location for couples who love the outdoors and are looking for a natural themed wedding (rustic, bohemian etc). I highly recommend this location and it's worth taking a tour of the property so you can explore the locations and options you have at your disposal.
