Don't Wait, Get Married!
With the Covid-19 pandemic, the uncertainty of how long it will last is here to stay. Lots of couples have been postponing their wedding date, but some of them have decided to dive right in and embrace the smaller weddings. My experience with these smaller weddings over the past year has been incredible, and there is a resounding and unanimous "WE ARE GLAD WE GOT MARRIED" feeling.
Love is not rooted in fear, and marriage is love.
Don't let the fear and uncertainty of this pandemic keep you from tying the knot with the person you love the most. With regulations and protective measures, it might be hard to believe that you can actually have a great time during your special day while staying safe. On the surface, it might seem like much has changed, but when you start diving into wedding planning, you realize the only thing that matters is the celebration of love.
In this article, we are going to explore some ideas that will inspire you to have an incredible COVID-friendly wedding. I will not be covering health and safety regulations as these are always changing, and different locations have different regulations. Do your research on what is acceptable.

Location: Wedding Venues, Cottage and Private Backyard
When it comes to locations, not much has changed. There are a TON of beautiful wedding venues to choose from and couples also choose to celebrate in their backyard.
- Wedding Venues: When it comes to choosing a venue, there are lots of smaller options available. Typically, smaller wedding venues offer a more intimate, styled and custom experience. Some beautiful small places that host great wedding events are:
- EVO Kitchen
- Monigram Coffee
- Langdon Hall
- The Lavender Farm
- Brantview Apples and Cider
- Cambium Farms
- Cottage & Resorts: This one has endless possibilities, and AirBnB is a great starting place to look for the perfect secluded location. Private cottages are also a great place to host your wedding as you have complete freedom over schedules and styling.
- Trillium Resort and Spa
- AirBnB
- Private Weddings: The fastest way to host a wedding is in your backyard because you have the ultimate flexibility. Typically for these weddings, we choose several cool locations for family

Styling Your Wedding & Photos
I am a huge fan of natural aesthetics, and my style can be described as natural and candid. Flowers, plants, gardens and wood tones can bring out the best in rustic or bohemian weddings. Needless to say, this is just my personal preference and you can incorporate personal items and pieces, such as photos, family heirlooms or meaningful artifacts.
You can be surprised how beautiful a wedding can be styled by adding your personal touch and creativity. If you don't have time to get involved, there are a ton of great vendors who can listen to your vision and create something custom and unique for you.
You've probably heard it before, but booking a great photographer that can understand and connect with you is super important. I still look over photos from my parent's wedding and childhood, and as a photographer myself I cannot help but recommend prioritizing on photos.
Here's to celebrating your love!
