Elora Mill Venue Overview

The Elora Mill is an iconic location that is synonymous with the little town of Elora. This old gristmill constructed in 1832 has been completely modernized while maintaining it's historic roots. To go along with the updates, there were many additional construction projects that lead to what the Elora Mill has become, including: a bridge leading from the chapel to the mill, updating the foundry (chapel) and reception building.

Venue Highlights

The Elora Mill is a one-stop wedding venue with preparation rooms onsite, a chapel and reception rooms. This wedding venue is part of the Pearle Events umbrella and you can expect the experiences and food to be high quality.

The venue contain 2 unique rooms ranging up to 200 seating capacity with options for an outdoor or an indoor chapel ceremony. The reception and chapel rooms all feature a natural and rustic look due to the exposed beam architecture, grey rock walls and large windows overlooking the main street in Elora. The food served is incredible as Elora Mill (along with all the Pearle Event venues) are known for their restaurants and hospitality. There is a bar area in the waiting hall to entertain guests during cocktail hour, and a bar inside the reception hall to keep the drinks going all night.

The chapel and reception rooms feature a fire place that is centered in the middle for an extra cozy feel. The main building and the reception hall are across the street from each other, but the foundry chapel / outdoor reception area requires a short walk across the river for access. The outdoor reception area is located right beside the river, surrounded by a garden and old building architecture, while the foundry chapel is large, modern and well lit and offers protection from the elements and makes winter weddings possible.

Elora features many great locations for photos and open space for large family gatherings including the Elora Gorge, Victoria Park, Elora bridge and simply a walk around the quaint city of Elora. You can be sure to have plenty of options within walking distance, and guests will also enjoy walking around the village before / after the wedding.

Due to multiple of reception rooms, chances are you will be sharing your wedding day with other couples. Due to this, there needs to be more structure to the schedule in order to accommodate multiple weddings taking place; however, the staff at Elora Mill is fantastic and help with the planning.

My Recommendation

If you are a hands-off wedding planning couple who just wants to show up and enjoy the day without moving around too much, then I highly recommend The Elora Mill. The property is beautiful and the convenience of having everything onsite (close proximity) takes your attention away from planning and focuses it on enjoying. Be sure to drop by and check out their spa and restaurant as well.
